GCh. Bearpaw BC
2004 Red Roan Leopard Appaloosa Stallion
Concensus X Pretty Sonny Money (Mr. Sonny Money)
MR# 8936
Disciplines: Halter, Working Cow Horse, Barrels, Cutting, Reining
Bearpaw is a one-man, or should I say one-woman, horse. He actually has a quite nasty temperament, and is certainly not for the novice rider. In fact, he’s not for many riders at all. So, I spend an awful lot of time with him myself, and he seems to like me. At least, he doesn’t throw his ears back and try to bite me like he does some of the other staff. So, I’ve made him my personal riding horse along with Peppy San Belle, and he is also in training for bridle-less, saddle-less reining exhibitions. We’ll see how well that works out in the future.
Even though he has a not-so-nice temperament, I’ve decided not to have Bearpaw gelded. I think his temperament may be due to not having enough time spent with him as a foal, but he does have some nice qualities. I think he will pass on a lot of confidence and spark to his future foals, as well as color. There is no denying that he is a beautiful stallion.
Bearpaw has been succeeding in many different western events, with first places in barrel racing and reining. He is also fairly cow-minded, though young, and we are looking forward to seeing how well he does in the cutting classes in the future.
