"Jess" is a beautiful palomino blanket Appaloosa mare with plenty of cowsense and talent to boot. In addition, she appears to carry the champagne gene although its uncertain where, exactly, she got it; both her sire and her dam are colors that could 'hide' champagne traits. Anyhow, whether or not she has the champagne gene, Jess will make an outstanding color producer thanks to her creme gene if she is ever bred.
Her sire, HAKUBA JAZZ, is a 1996 few spot Foundation-bred Appaloosa stallion, meaning he is a guaranteed Appy color producer and is homozygous for the Lp spotting gene.
Her dam, MONITA SHINING SPARK, is a palomino daughter of SHINING SPARK, a successful reiner who has been named NRHA #1 Leading Sire, AQHA World Champion Junior Reining horse, and NRHA Open Derby Champion. Her dam, MONITA SAN, is a daughter of PEPONITA, a multiple-time World Champion Cutting horse.
